Hi, my name is Matt and NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! I am a T8 incomplete paraplegic. I was a former athlete and was injured from a four wheeler accident in April, 2006. I was a complete injury and told I had a 99% chance to never walk again by my doctor. I used that 1% for continued motivation for my recovery from this injury. I have been blessed with opportunities to further my recovery. I have traveled to Carlsbad, CA where I performed spinal cord injury therapy at Project Walk. I currently live in Baltimore, MD where I am a full time college student and do spinal cord injury therapy at Kennedy Krieger Institute four days a week. I have transitioned from an ASIA A complete injury to an ASIA C incomplete injury. I work out everyday of the week and know that a hard work ethic is a big part of my recovery.My family and my faith are the most important aspects of my life. I know that without these two, I would not be where I am at today. My dad is my hero and he used to work out with me everyday after my accident. He is truly the man I want to become one day. I love sports and am a huge Arkansas Razorback fan. I have had the opportunity to share my story with countless others. I do motivational speaking in hopes to inspire others to further their own lives and defy the impossible. It is very rewarding to share the story of my life, in hopes that inspires someone elses life.I am excited to be part of spinalpedia. This is an awesome network filled with inspiring individuals.
